Statistics of using Internet at work for personal use

The number of people of using internet for personal use at work place is increasing at fast pace. Although employees have internet access at their home but they prefer to use more at work due to high speed connections and unlimited data. This is the reason that dismissals due to misuse of internet is increasing day by day.

 According to recent surveys it is cleared that 40 percent loss in productivity of American Business is only due to internet misuse.

70 % of all internet porn traffic occurs during work days between 9 am to 5 pm. In U.S, 37% of employees say that they surf the web continuously and surfing only non-work related sites. 32.6 % employees surf the without any specific objective and men are twice as likely as women. 27 % of employees have also been caught surfing web for personal use and get fired from their job.

The result of these surveys is warning for employees who misuse internet for personal use and causing harm to the profits of their company. They should keep in mind internet misuse in workplace can cause harm to their job also.

Implementation of Internet Usage Policies in the Workplace


In today's era Internet  has many advantages in the work place including ease of communication and making easy to access information. As each and every coin has two sides, there are also many disadvantages of internet. Misuse of internet is major issue in work places. An implementation of  good internet usage policy can help to minimize its disadvantages.
                                                               

There are some employees who does not  know that which websites are banned in the work place and which are not.Internet usage policy provides direction to employees. It helps them to avoid being fired from job and encourage them work efficiently to achieve the goal by proper use internet.
Policy should be well explained and make employees aware about the policies during the time of Recruitment.

Misuse of internet can cause a big loss to company. To make the policy effective in work place employers should also follow it. Moreover, make sure that everyone is working by following internet usage policy.
